M20 123 ignition

Post by knapmann »

Does anyone have any experience of running a 123 ignition distributor on M20 engine?

Hi Neil,

don't see why it would be any different to running it on an m10 and mine's been fantastic. Only issue I ever encountered was split second cut outs for the first few miles when cold - traced it to the voltage regulator (e21 alternator) spiking the charge and causing the 123 circuit to automatically cut out for safety.

Was thinking of getting one of these for my 320/6.

Finding it ridiculously hard to find a distributor. Set up seems pretty easy Neil?

Thanks Nick!

Unfortunately I can’t find a supplier for the M20 version anywhere in the UK or Ireland. Where did you source yours Neil?
