It might happen that it lose some value because its not 100% original any more, but the car is not fore sale. I make it as I like and it will be a good car for me for many years to come. And if someone realy wants to buy it, it`still me they have to talk to.
It will for me be possible to get a "new" Alpina B6 2.8 with some upgrades. A dreem that I not was able to do 30 years ago. And to a price thats i way lower then it was here in Norway at that time.

A 2012 316D sedan with 1000 km still has the price of 55.000.- euros here, ;-) Norwy is expensive ;-(

So if I use 40.000 euros on this car, I still have a 40.000 car after ten years and lot of fun in those ten years. At the same time it will cost app 1500 euros in tax and insurance in those ten years.

The 316D is lot more expensive and loos value for every year.

I`ll keep an original BMW color that was for the late E21 cars and only for a short periode of time. If I did not have the 323i that is polaris, I maybe keept it in polaris. Just so I can see what car I am driving ;-)

Dear Lars
Re colour change- interesting that AlunP changed his B6 2.8 from Green to black when it was rebuilt see:
http://www.bmwe21.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=18249
I believe that provided you paint it well in a period type colour you shouldn't go far wrong
mind you like me you don't sell your cars either- in which case pick a car in daylight with the colour you want and go for it.
When we did Camilla (My 68 Camaro Convertible) in mid 90's it had been badly painted in white- I wanted dark blue- but which dark blue (red interior) eventually found a Bentley Convertible with red seats in the colour I wanted- so Camilla is painted in RR/Bentley dark blue (it was originally burgundy!).
here is Camilla beside Herman at home:

Well the muffler itself is no problem, it's the mount that was bolted on for the rhs. Looks crappy in the trunk!

Its the same mount on both sides. Its the ferrita system they put on it on a smart way sometime that has to be changed. So we cange it so we can use the original mounts.

And I need a quaife diff for the 328. I have a button to turn of the antispin systen and a manuel gearbox without a clutch. It was sidwway out of the garage today. Fun :launch
