Re: My car 318 76 model converting to 323i
Meyle is absolute rubbish, and OEM BMW is Febi-Bilstein, that is why you get the BMW logo and P/N etched out when you buy Febi through an aftermarket source. Perhaps polyurethane is an option now, with a bit of luck Strongflex offers them too, perhaps even in black PU? Otherwise you may want to ask them as they are quite flexible and can also offer custom made PU bushings.
But in your thought process you ae now switching to propshaft flex discs? Sofar the OEM examples have been good, but I'm not sure what brand OEM is these days. No experience with upgraded versions myself.

I tried to explain a few times why the BMW markings are etched off. Febi is OEM for this part.

For the driveshaft I have used Febi. Which is fine until now... When you are in there with the propshaft, remove/replace the bearing as well. Lift the covers and put some grease in there. As much as you can.

I wouldn't use Meyle. And keep the bushings! PU is nowadays a fine option.

Ok, then I can use Febi, just have to order one in. All the bearings on my car is new, I left no old ones behind. My car will practically be like a new car mechanical, just the body work which isn’t «new». There probably are minor rust somewhere, but I haven’t found any serious rust that needs attention now.Wilmo wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 6:52 pm For the driveshaft I have used Febi. Today I did the last sanding, the engine bay is now ready for paint.
I hope we can do it next weekend.
Paint is mixed and ready for the spray gun - It´s Alpinweiss II
