Cloth tape for wiring harnesses

Post by jbrunken »

Just wanted to pass this tip along:

I found a cloth tape that, if it's not *the* tape that BMW used originally, it's a perfect match: Tesa 51006. It's available by the roll from a supplier in Poland. It has the right construction (unlike hockey tape) and a nice level of adhesion.

Shipping to the US was surprisingly cheap and it arrived within a week for me, via FedEx.

Our cars use the 9mm and the 19mm. I've found that one roll of the 9mm goes a long way. I was able to rewrap all of the harnesses on the front of my car with less than two rolls. I'm very pleased with the results. They look brand new.
