Hi everybody
I've seen on Real oem parts that there are 2 types of Headlight Glass Retention Ring. One is chrome model and the second is silver painted model.
Does everybody knows if it was an option with the E21 models ? Or was it an accessory of BMW shops ?
Genuinely, I think the E21 models where generally equipped with silver rings. So what about chrome rings ?

Yup, as far as I know the grey ones are original E21 but I converted to E12 chrome rings as well! EU models for Uwbuurman and myself, the US sealed beam headlights may require a different approach indeed.

Thanks Jeroen
A friend of mine told me he bought his beand new 323i (8/1981) with genuine chrome rings. Mine (9/1980) was sold new with grey. Does my friend have a good memory ? Or some disparities did exist at this tme ?

Sadly the most recent editions of BMW's ETK (and derivates like bmwfans and realoem) don't give a full insight on the exact history of some parts Wouldn't be surprised if different versions were supplied over time indeed.
