E21 Tour of the Alps 2015 (June 1-5)
We've done E21 trips to the Alps before back in 2010 and 2011 (click for a photo report). The past few years have been way too busy even though we were able to do our annual Ardennes or Eifel trips! But we'll be back in the Alps this year. Leaving on June 1st right after the Sharknose Meeting we will tour legendary French Alps roads and even make a brief Italian sidestep. The basis will be to follow the wonderful Route des Grandes Alpes.
With professional guidance and communication equipment, a different hotel for each night, tools and spares available and even a mandatory technical scrutineering session beforehand we try to accomplish that we will have a relaxed and trouble free time of enjoying our cars and the scenery, in good company! Sofar 5 teams have enrolled and all preparations have started!
After the tour we plan to drive over to Dijon, France on June 5 to visit the Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or (June 5-7). A wonderful event quite similar to the Le Mans Classic where we will join the BMW club stands including the French Atelier E21 community for another celebration of 40 years of E21, and see some magnificent classic BMW racing. See here for the topic on the Dijon GPAO.

Re: E21 Tour of the Alps 2015 (June 1-5)
Just like Jeroen I'm strugling to process all the pictures I made the last couple of months, but as I fnished my house, my office and it rains outside it's time to do a small update. Starting with the Alps tour we did last June. We started in Holland where Arnold picked me up and after a couple of hours I joined Sven in his homebuild 335i. Had a ball with a group of great friend, hope to share some pictures with you to do this tour again!
The fun started on the way over, after some kilometres the children started to get bored and we tried some group shots
Arriving at the first hotel we needed to change the first headlamp which got damaged after hitting a bird!
Also important to check the CO levels as we started going up the mountains. Being well prepared we brought our own measuring device
Jeroen even found time to adjust the bootlid to prevent his bags getting wet
After changing the headlamp we used Sven black car to adjust the height, this being good enough to finish the tour:
Visiting the Alps isn't for the driving alone, the killer views make you feel like being on holiday (good thing as it was my holiday this year):
Even the road in between the cols were fun to drive:
A nice stop at Col de la Madeleine, enjoying coffee and the beautiful weather!
After processing some of these pictures I'm looking forward going to the Eifel in a couple of weeks to finish of this season. Hope my LSD is ready to give my own car the beans

Re: E21 Tour of the Alps 2015 (June 1-5)
When are we going back is the main question.
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Re: E21 Tour of the Alps 2015 (June 1-5)
BMW Car Mag first wanted to run a BMW backed official story on 40 years of 3 series, that is in the November issue that just came out. Next month, so in the December issue, there will be a report on the E21 Alps Trip! Oh and our article on the German OGP as well!
