the e21 has no pollen filter, but it can be done by putting fabric for kitchen hoods at the inlet of the fan

Nice idea!
Where exactly, can you post a diagram showing the point (fan inlet) ?

unfortunately I can't post photos here, but if you remove the fan's sheet metal cover it's not difficult to find where to put the filter

Some days ago, it so happened I was going on reverse, in a mall parking, and the steering wheel was almost all the way turned to the left (or right, I don't remember, but I guess that doesn't matter)
And I heard a clicking noise from the diff.
I made a search in the web and found -in various forums posts- people saying that this is normal with lsd's (as is mine).

Opinions/objections?

Could be indeed, could also be an exhaust mount.

If it were an exhaust mount, wouldn't I be experiencing same or similar noises at other moments as well? It only happened once and while I was doing the specific move

back in the days when I drove my e21 with bent rear subframe, everything was fine until hard cornering to the left and car leaning to the right and something in that movement started to scratch against each other... like scraping metal sound. can't remember what it was but I guess it was some stupid thing fixable in 2 minutes...

lsd is a bit louder but I would inspect ball joints. they tend to do clicking sound when are under load...
also, check lsd mushroom bolts if they are all still in place. they also tend to undo if red loctite is not used. blue loctite - crap, red - okay
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Scraping or rattling sounds are in many cases the exhaust rubbing the propshaft

I'd start looking for scratch marks....

Will check, however I only heard this while reversing with the steering wheel almost locked to the one end (can't remember if it was left or right)

Maybe also I should mention that the clicking noise was rather rythmic, not random (such as "click click click ...")

What is that part for?
And where/how is it fitted?
I happen to have one in my hands. Should I fit it?
