thanks mate! this has to finished before the arrival of our next baby in January! I've had some very helpful advice from mcjordan and nas so hopefully my pre prep work should have this done fairly quickly. I saw you were looking for an m50/m52 I presume you are doing the same?

Yes mate I'm doing the same. I've arranged the engine (m52 2.8 ) but not at my garage yet, when it is I hope to get a move on with mine too.

I've got three young kids so know what you mean about time restraints

Keep us posted with how you get on :thumbsup

Make sure you swap the m20 gearbox pilot bearing into the back of your m52 at the same time.

Thanks nas, I had already swapped that - just forgot it off my list ;) any news on the sump? Going to hopefully get the bay painted this weekend and then it will be time to start peicing it all back together

Isn't this the same on M10, M20 and M30 engines? Part number 11211276551?

This should be good when it's all finished.

I'm doing an M42 conversion and also require the E30 318is fuel pump.
Its proving hard to find, any alternatives available??

I went on e30zone on Facebook and put a wanted comment up for the pump, and got one within 20 minutes :) I was looking at the m42, then a friend had a little accident in he's 328 hence going this route. I should think the m42 would be a really nice balance in a 21. Good luck with your build

Oh well, it's good that something has come out of their 'little accident'

Cheers!

bit of an update... i got my sump back from nas (thanks mate). I had a bit of a drama with the oil pick up pipe as it broke in two just before i was about to fit it, luckily it happened in my hand an not in the engine. just looking at the original steel m52 pick as it is steel and easier for me to get modified???? not sure if this has been done, but looks like an option.
After stripping the complete fron end off the car i realised it had some minor damage on the front panel from a previous accident, so this has now been put right and any rust removed and is nearly ready for paint, so all being well should have it ready soon to fit the engine :)
