Looks great Rasb - the Alpina front is a good look and unusual colour.

Thanks a lot, guys

The car is tugged away in the garage with no license plates at the moment - It failed it's last MOT due to excesive rust in the front left side member. I put the car up for sale for 5.200 Euro about 3 months ago, but after ZERO interrest from anyone, I have decided to keep it, and see if I have the time and money to fix the rust etc. in the spring time next year :cheers

Mine are 7x15" BBS RS070's with ET16, so no spacers are needed. If you have 7x15" RS001's with ET25, you need a spacer of about 9-10mm. I an not sure about the 8x15" rim.

Glad you kept it too. Even as an MOT failure 5,200 is a great price.

Hm, I can see most of the pictures in this thread are lost - Picture host update, I guess.

Well, as some of you may know, I have sold the car a couple of weeks ago, after almost 8 years of great ownership - I am going to miss is big time!!!!
The new owner is a 55 year old guy from Germany, with several other old BMW :driving

He came today to pick it up :(

Taking a final look:

Handing over the keys:

Driving away... FOREVER!

So... now I just have one nice "problem"... what's next? E23? E32 V8 - Let's see

Ah yes, I am still alive and well, even without my E21 :screwy

When sold, I was afraid I would miss it terribly, but it is actually not the case - I never give much thought to it, actually. I was ready to move on, and the past 8 months not missing it, proves me right :)
It is a stunning looking car, and it will not be my last sharknose BMW. I think my next old school ride will be a E12 or E28 - I simply think the E21's are getting too damn expensive, for me to jsutify a purchase of another.
By the way, I recieved a couple of pics from the new owner, from the started restoration of it, and it also proves it was ready for another restoration!

360.000km i the Danish climate had really taken it's toll on it.

Jeroen are right - I am now cruising in a 1993 E34 540i, with all the gadgets - I apologize in advance for the douchebag looking exhaust (I promise... it was on the car when I bought it!!!)

By the way, it has been somewhat of an expensive relationship - I owned the car for 6 months, and have already spent more on it, than I paid for it :?
But it IS a great drive, and what music it makes :crazy

Right now the car is located at Euler BMW in Frankfurt, 800km from me, due to a broken water pump and thermostat - "Blew up" on the German autobahn last weekend :protest

Nice to see you're still checking back here regularly! The 540i is a beauty, and what a great car to drive. Friend of mine has two, 6 speeds manuals, and we drove them against a 3.6 M5. The difference was only very, very small. On a slow track, the 540's would be faster. Enjoy it and hope to see you in person again one day! Best to the Ms as well!
