thanks guys, I was so happy when I won the award. the judge said they liked the cleanliness of the engine install and the finish of the paintwork, but it was the digital dash that blew them away

Re: 316 - m52b28 / individual+
update....
The car has been running fantastic.. I did have a small oil leak from the sump gasket so I had to replace. it was only a slight dribble but enough to really irritate me. I had to take the subframe off and that meant suspending the engine using a crane and contorting my body around the engine crane legs. very unpleasant.
I am using the m3 box, it has holes in it so you can get a socket to take off the rear most bolts of the sump - when you have an m20 box on an m52 these holes are not there so you would have to remove the box to change the sump.
Thanks to pandemonium remembering a pinky swear from a year or two ago he let me have first dibs on the image split rims. I was straight round there like a rat up a drain pipe. awesome guy.
They fit PERFECT. no need to stretch tyres, no spacers - there's bags of clearance, and I can literally lower it as much as I want and I know I wont get rubbing. The car is way more compliant on rough roads and the steering is now lighter due to the reduced weight of 3 piece billet wheels. These are rims for life.
next year I think I might get the centres colour coded and the rims chromed for added "pop"
here are some of my trademark crap pics... (car is at "have fun in the rain" ride height)

Glad you are pleased with the wheels, told you they would fit nice.
Any chance of a full side/rear view?.
Its nice to have a bit of space in the garage.

Very tidy indeed, awesome rims!

Hopefully someone with camera related talent will snap some at the bmw show next week. I cannot understand why my pics are generally so crap.
Might even do a vid of snapping a driveshaft on the drag strip. I hope it does a decent time.

That's interesting, I have an HTC one and I've never taken photos that bad, if anything they come out great, even in darkness where other phones fail. I think fiddling with the tap to focus in different places can help...problemchild75 wrote:Htc one can't be helping the photography

Took the last set with a proper camera.
My HTC one has the purple camera of death. I broke the camera in my phone by leaving it in the sun on charge and it got really really hot.
Problemchild is trolling me cos he's an Apple fanboy.

Nas,
My passenger for the day is bringing his camera gear, said he'd happily take some pics for you.
Maybe in return for a passenger trip up the strip
He normally pics nature, birds, fish etc. but I'm sure he can get a good image of an E21 beast instead.

Nice one Ben. Don't mind taking him up the strip.
