323i BAUR

Post by baur323 »

Hi!! I´m an spanish guy who has a 323i BAUR 1979.
I´m only 18y.o. but I love my car...I have another BMW: a 95´ 325TDS but I enjoy much more with my old 323i :D

My grandfather give me when he died
and this fact and my love for old BMW´s made that I restored this car.

All in my car is new except the soft top (in summer...I´ll buy it I hope)
wheels, tires, springs(apex),shocks absorbers(sachs sport),filters, steering wheel, belts, brake discs(with holes and carvings)and pads, emblems, exhausts, and the last week my beemer was painted on original Stratos Blau Metallic 150 :D

I hope that you like!

Another nice looking e21 here. Take a good care of it because Baur's 323i are very rare.

Well I never understood people driving a Baur. Like with the E30... I couldn't imagine why anyone would want a Baur when there's the full convertible. Then I somehow was handed a Baur for free and then I understood... convertible with coupé rigidity and handling... now I know for sure I never want a fully convertible... and I'm looking for a 325i Baur now!

Thats a beautiful car there, and a nice way that it came down to you through the family 8)...it is also an hierloom.

It is a very clean example of a very rare car, so you are very lucky! :D

And I agree with Jeroen - full convertibles stink. A baur is much better - it looks unique and maintains chassis rigidity! They don't make cars like that anymore...

Have Fun!

Thats why i got my e30 325 baur, handles like the coupe and it was less than half the price of a full convertible! A real pleasure to drive. Oh and it looks fantastic!

Well

I´ll actualice my post because my 323i Baur have had a lot of improves during this years:

It runs completly perfect (although...it has the original M20B23 engine) and I love to drive it,how it sounds and how it moves :D

In this years I´ve bought another classic cars (323i E30 and Ford Capri 2.0S) and...this others are great cars, but the e21 is the more special for me.

On "to do list" I have still:
-retrimm the rear seats in blue leather
-repaint the interior doors in same colour as the seats
-LSD
-eco5 gearbox :D

Nice cars!
Very nice baur also.

In a Dutch topic we're discussing about importing cars from Spain.
Can you please tell us whinch documents we need?
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.
