Nice job! I'm so jealous that you have the sheet metal for inner sills too. Last I checked they were NLA. :(

Due to the making of approx 110 Peters Cabriolet, there are not too many cars out there. The rules for "making" my own convertible here in Norway is impossible, so I had to use a Peters edition, due to the fact that it is registrated as a convertible.

I have been working a lot away from home the last 6 years, so not too much time for my cars. But, 2011 has been a good year (for me, regarding my car-builds), so the E28 Alpina are really getting close to finishing up. I know I have said this before, but I hope to start up again with the E21 this spring.

If you guys wonder how things turn out with the E28, you might want to have a look at this thread:

Yeah, I know it is in Norwegian, but the pics need hopefully no translation... ;)

Well, REstoring is kinda wrong. Storing it since 1997 is the truth :)

As a matter of fact, I guess I only need like 8 or 9 parts to have it all (that I need). I should have ordered the years ago, but every time I remember it - all my money had already been spent on the E28..

Pictures will come, when this project starts up again.

Thank you all for keeping up with me in this thread. maybe 2012 will be more nice to me? ;)

We'll have to wait for you to start on the Peters, but you're doing a great job on one of my all time favorites, the E28 B7 and especially that Kat version where the turbo kicks in considerably earlier making it feel considerably faster than the non-cat versions. Did you set some kind of deadline for the E28 to be finished?

My E28 Alpina B7 TurboKat do not have a deadline, due to all the deadlines I have set earlier on the Peters cab. BUT... The E28 Drivetrain is almost ready, Engineblock is in, head is going for a complete makeover today and things look nice. The next major thing is the paint job, and a completion of drivetrain, engine bay, interior and exterior. So if everything goes as it should - this summer I will finally drive a car to a BMW-meeting...

I need a front center bumper, can anyone tell me where I can get a decent new one at a decent price? I understand from forum members that the W&N one is not so good.

Yep, you can better have your old one rechromed, the new ones usually aren't too clean and they're pretty good at rusting.

Back in the olden days we'd say don't buy cheap replacements, the premium for oem is worth it. But nowadays oem is worse quality than the cheap stuff used to be... as it's becoming hard to find the imitation stuff

unfortunately, re-choreming is not a servive avaliable here and my current bumper from a friend is not that straight. I made a mistake of throwing out my original bumper.....sigh

I took a different approach, I moved the last posts regarding the E28 to the Off Topic forum where we keep all non-E21 stuff. This car deserves its own thread!

The thread about this wonderful Alpina B7 turbo is located here
