been doing a bit but not as much as i would have liked over the last 3 months, the summer increased the house and family duties.
rear arm blasted and bush removed
Image

you can see the spacer tube
Image

use these to remove
Image
hammer through the housing to the other side alternate 180 degrees and walk the bearing out, it isnt that tight, dozen taps does it
Image

both shims under the outer bearings measured equal sizes, I think these are set at the factory to allow for tooling and jig tolerances when machining the bores on the hub, the bearings should always be the same size when replaced, so you should never have to change them, just done get them mixed up with different hub assy's.

cleaned up these bits
Image

need to remove the screw then paint
Image
dont know if its worth painting or get a new one
Image
got the camber plates machined
Image

perfect fit
Image

you get a total of 7mm lateral adjustment by turning to bolt 180degrees
Image

some painted stuff
Image

Full car kit, still waiting on my front rear bolt kits
Image

This tank need replacing but thats on another thread
Image

Image

purchased a carbon propshaft
Image
carbon one weights in at 5kg
e21 model weight 7.8
so if i do modify and splice them i might save a kilo
Image

Have purchased som body shop stuff,
Image
6 tubes upol gravitex
12 tubes u-pol tiger seal
various strip clean flap discs, another 25kgcrushed glass for the blaster spare nozzles, just need to order the epoxy primer now.

Got one of those camber plates spare? Need just one to replace one I bent (don't ask!)

I notice the end of the carbon shaft is completely different to the flange on the bmw boxes. How you going to mate them and what about balancing it?

Otherwise it's about time you updated us.

I will see if the polished gearbox end on the composite shaft can be machined down to suit the coupling at the center bearing area, if its splined will have to do it on a mill or shaping machine. then just move the center bearing mount point.
the diff end just needs a 1mm spigot ring made, and slightly elongate the holes inward.
Part off the short shaft to length on a lathe then weld back together and x-ray.

Will try and get one more made up, I have not forgot.

if you'll be making the camber plates for nas80, could you make 1 set for me too? I'm willing to pay the asking price with shipping, no problem. Paypal or transfer...

I dont know if i can get any more, I already asked about a batch being made. They where machined at work and its a bit dodgy for my collegues to make things for people outside work. I dont expect them to do it for free but they cant be seen using company time for profit.

I will however look locally to see how much i can get them made for and do a group buy, i cant see them costing much.

After a Buisy few months, I finally managed some time on the E21 tonight.
altered the C of G on the spit by 2" now rotates a lot easier and made a link bar for the bottom to keep it more stable.

Also got these front Intrax coilovers for a good price, need to modify the front hub to the clamp style and set my ride height, they are about 4 inches shorter then the stock unit.
think the springs are around 250lb/inch plus the helpers.

Light as a feather, alloy housings, inverted shock so help unsprung weight.
