Re: Cylinder head
Welcome Phil! Got time for an introduction? Curious about the car and its owner. Where are you based? Dont be shy with pics of your e12.
Regarding your question: to bad, no it is not. The m30 head on your block goes up to 1976. So you'll need one earlier than September 1976. Also found in an e3 and e9, you can use all m30 heads from those models, so also the 3 liter and 3.3 litre engines. I think that an e12 528 head is the same to. As long as its pre September 1976
I have an e12 525 engine for sale, but that is an 1985 e12 engine, complete. Based in the Netherlands.
On www.bmwfans.info you can find all sorts of detailed info on your car, all partnumbers etc. Based on the vinnumber of the car. Tap "spare part" then in de right upper corner give in the VIN and off you go.

Re: Cylinder head
Thanks for the response I’ve started a journey with a 1975 e12 525 but it’s not started well with the coolant being dumped out of the exhaust! After some research I understand there’s a history of cracking between the waterways and the exhaust port - in my case it’s on cylinder no 2

Re: Cylinder head
Whats the cilinderhead number you need?
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Cylinder head for a 1975 e12 525 - it might be 199 or AMC?

Re: Cylinder head
AMC? That is a non OEM head factory from Spain. Quite oke products.
Please post some pics of that head, all sides.
Something like this should be on there. BMW logo and number.
