Hi, been a very long time since I posted here! I had an opal green 1982 E21 316 which I owned for about 3.5 years. Registration number was XUD 863X. I had done a few mods to it - weber carb, 5 speed gearbox conversion, lowered springs and dampers, E30 sports interior, 15" BBS wheels.
I sold it to someone who exported it to Guernsey (or was it jersey, I can't recall) back in either 2010 or 2011 whilst I was at uni.
I'm just curious as to whether it's still alive? Probably not, but you never know!
I've uploaded a few images from around 2010 to my Google drive account which can be found here

The person who bought it from me apparently sold it to someone who said they were going to restore it but I have no way of knowing. It'd be great to know if it's still alive or not.
Here is a thread the person who bought it from me created

Kind regards,
Ross.
Does anyone know what happened to my old car?

Re: Does anyone know what happened to my old car?
Just a shameless bump. I have managed to track the VIN - which is WBAAG1203C6983113. Just today I have emailed the DVL (Guernsey version of the UK's DVLA) to see if they can help.
Nobody know? I suspect it is dead, but I really just want to know.
Thanks.

Re: Does anyone know what happened to my old car?
So they got back to me with the following:
"Good Afternoon
Thank you for your email. Unfortunately I am unable to give you much information on the vehicle due to data protection, I can confirm that the vehicle is no longer registered in Guernsey.
Regards"
So, still don't fully know. It has either been scrapped, or exported elsewhere. There are no records of it coming back into the UK.
I am fairly certain it will have been scrapped. A shame, but it was only a 316 (admittedly modified a bit) and would be approaching its 42nd birthday in a few months. Not many cars make it that far.
It has been 12 years since I sold it. It is the only car I still miss. I had some great times in it. I now drive an E90 M3 saloon, which is somewhat different!
