not much done in the last 6 weeks but some done an hour here and there

preassure washed and TFR the inner arches

Image

Image

Image

will probably paint inner arches with waxoyl black after cleaning any scabs, just to tidy up and make one colour

subframe with new steering joints but origional rubbers still
Image
Image

Image

engine bay finally painted, missed the window for paint one weekend so ended up with 3 base, scuff down 1 more base then 500ml of clear. Its far from perfect but better than it was.
bulkhead sound deadning bonded back on with seam sealer.

How time flies, more small, time consuming jobs done:

stripped down the intake side:
Image
Image

HMMMMM:
Image

welds are not 100% penetration, bits chipped out when drilled
Image
all the holes are not even inline, or 100% on intake flow, some 30% covered by the gasket!!! so much for a pro job!! :wtf

The correct amount of pedals.
Image
can someone remind me which side the flippy conector bit goes, up or down???

Pedal has been re-drilled so choice of 5.75 or 7.4 pedal ratio.

Image

steering box back in, it didnt need any adjustment, no play at all now thanks to all new joints.

a Few home made brackets to tidy and relocate
Image

Image

the old master was relocated and rotated to fit best on the remote servo style pedal box. spaced 2.5mm at top to adjust angle to match the pedal.

view from above
Image

trying to use space wisely.

Box of spares still to use.
Image

Lots on order
10m of black braided 6an fuel line
044 fuel pump
facet red top
aeromotive fpr with gauge and black fittings
6an 100micron filter
various fittings and clamps for fuel system and front brake lines.
Bought a DTA P8PRO ecu as well. Handy its motronic 55 pin so might be able to recycle some of the 2x harnesses.

all line will be run inside the car.

surge tank and pumps will be mounted and sound proofed in spare wheel well.

Thanks, not a word I thought I would ever see you type, haha.
2 m10x1.25 bolts on order as well to blank the master and convert to single front lines, anyone see issues with that?

more goodies:

Scored an old stock mountney boss, might be handy for a grippy wheel for when the arms start to flail

Image
fuely bits:
Image

Image

was not happy just putting the fitting in the low pressure side so made use of the chamfer

o-ring installed

Just some details about the lift pump for any one who needs the info:
facet Gold flo P/N 480532E
it is the highest flowing one I could see at 45 GPH 6.5-8 PSI, I will be 0 back pressure so maybe a bit more.

it has the 1/4 NPT thread which is the cheapest and easiest to find a fitting to convert to AN6.

In build 74 micron filter.

P.S just scored an aeromotive stealth 340 for a bargain, so may convert the surge tank to include an in tank pump. and if required, check valve the 044 as a secondry if required. but that will be pushing 600hp :shock

The theory is, 340 stealth will be quiter surrounded by fuel for normal everyday driving low boost, if required the 044 can suppliment flow, but dont think i will need it.

This is very interesting:

M30 11.5 afr, no way, more like 10.5-11 = more fuel.

got some done on the brake lines tonight,
used a metal rod and wirelocked the line to the end of it to thread inder the gearbox tunnel carpet
Image
Image

threaded neatly through the cabin between to air ducts and was a nice space next to an existing grommet
Image
bulkhead fitting with 90 degree bend on it.
went passenger side to make sure it clears the head.

had to file down the banjo fitting, slightly to long then re-counter sink
Image

haynes manual stated front chamber is front brakes only & rear chamber front and rear brakes.
still waiting on the 2 bolts to blank the spare outputs.
if you see a boo boo with the plumbing on the master, please tell me.

started routing lines, got some m4 bolts on order to secure the clamps
Image
Image
Image

Going to re-use the bolt in the back of the master to locate a steady down to the chassis leg, if it will fit with the engine in. Will hopefully stop some flex on the bulhhead.

swivel fittings make life easier
Image

plus this arrived
Image
yum yum.

Some parts arrived and started a trial assembly
Image

Image

the E12 tank has a simple swirl port i can see, dont think its a venturi style tho, so some extra holes may be in order.
Image

fuel pick up pipes made up from some scrap
Image

12 30lb injectors arrive from the states as well.
Image

trimed and drilled out the old supply and return pipes, they where facing the wrong way any how
Image

drill out and test fit

Image

here you can see the difference in size

Image

base drilled out & converted to twin pick up, edges filed down on the plastic, the base is 6mm from the bottom of the tank.

Image

Image

the bigger tubes are a fine fit with the float and still slides up down fine.

Image

Trial fit, 2 supply, 1 return still to be fitted bulkhead style to the tank.
Image

TA DA, One E12 650hp fuel pick up assembly, with combined fuel sender. chrome painted, dont have any aerosol black left.
