Sorry to both! I saw this thread kind of lost between sections!

Sean, I've been pretty busy and my e21 is currently having some bodywork done, but as soon as I get it back I'll take some photos :thumbsup

So, I've done next to no updates for such a long time and my apologies for that. Apart from a varied career path for the last couple of years the honest truth is that my heart went out of doing any more and I figured selling it.

I've had a few mechanical problems that prevented it from being a daily reliable driver. The first being a cracked sump because of the behemoth of a speed hump going in (MD's aren't actually going to even register this as a problem, sat in the Range Rover Vogues) and a broken drive shaft spline which had to break on my way to London.

Anyway, both these are now sorted - the only other thing that's really bothering me is the state of the drivers seat. I really will need to retrim it (or the new owner).

I had a good drive today and for the first time in years - it drives like a dream. No weird knocking noise on takeoff, which was probably the driveshaft spline deteriorating and lots of nods, smiles and thumbs up's makes me realise what a unique - yet driveable car these E21's are..

Some photos of the exterior/interior and the mods some will be aware I've made, but I've not really broadcast.

Mal (Mals custom classic) the very pleasant bloke who did Nas's respray had a go at converting my manual sunroof to electric using a combination of E21 and E30 parts. It works a treat.

This ones being asked for a few times. My E30 dash and console in an E21. Not everyones cup of tea I know and I need to think about how to mount the glovebox, but apart from that I like it because with the other period stuff like the steering wheel and original recaro trim it all seems to work in my opinion.

Drivers seat is in poor condition, need to think of something for this!

Rest of the interior quite a nice place to be I reckon :)

Couple more pics to end. Not as glamorous as some of the E21's on here, but looking back so many years, I had a vision of how I wanted this E21 to look and perform and at least I got there for the most part.

Nice to see the checkcontrol in the car. Got them all working?

Well it works, but there definitely aren't any problems with the oil and brakes, so I don't think it's very accurate. If I was to change it, I'd use that space to house a bluetooth module perhaps.

Was hoping you changed your mind about selling!

Ha ha every day, but I have another project on the go and I could do with the space and money. I guess I haven't formally put it for sale apart from the sign in it window which unfortunately has attracted timewasters and dreamers

I know what it's worth in parts, which is why it would be foolish to sell it for less than the sum of them. So until then it stays with me, but ahem, if you know anyone on your side of the channel who would be interested I could drive it down to the shark nose meet!

It's been a strange few weeks, but I'm due to hand the car to the new owner. As with a lot of sad news it doesn't normally hit me straight away and I'm happy with the price I've got and who it is going to and I can now focus my efforts and funds on my E3. I'm not going to give away too much for now, except it seems that the car isn't destined for America, but Oldham.
Thanks for everyone for their help over the years, but more recently Mark, Jeroen and Nas. Hope to update this soon if the new owner agrees.

Last moments with you and the E21, but it is good it stays in the UK even though it is LHD. Hope it goes to a good home and that we'll see the owner here.

And for you... must be mixed feelings indeed, stick around and keep us updated on the E3!!!!

Thanks J and totally. Really must admit that I really enjoy being part of this forum and wouldn't want to change that. Plus the E21 is staying close to home which is nice and the story and lessons learned live on in my E3 :)

Kind words for J and his Forum, but still... the E21 is soon to be gone. Will the E3 fill the gap She will leave? Sure, the E3 is a real looker, and I'm sure it will be a headturner, when you're done, but your E21 looks so great! Man, i can imagine it must be hard to let her go! Good luck with that!

Yes the E3 will take its place for me and on this forum. Thanks for the compliments, except - truth be told the car isn't perfect, but the new owner knows this and it will be nice to see if he plans to improve upon it some more.
