It was nice to see an E21 in anger especially a 6 cylinder.
The weather wasn't kind. Bit wet & windy so we only hung around for an hour or so.
Had to get changed into some dry clothes before heading to Calais for an earlier ferry.

We saw this special car at this year's Sharknose Meeting (where else? ) and it looks like a 1980's conversion that was just finished! Time travel! Anyone know more about this model "BB Alpina B6 2.8"?? Believe we've seen it before but we want to know the whole story don't we?!

What we found out about the pearl white B6: conversion done by Porsche specialists the brothers Rainer and Dieter Buchmann. Their business was known under different names such as Buchmann und Buchmann, B&B Auto Exclusiv Service and BB Autotechnik. Current website: www.bb-frankfurt.com

30 years ago to the day, the race world lost Manfred Winkelhock. Very known from E21 Group 5 race cars in many liveries before he finally moved into Formula 1 and drove (among others) for the ATS-BMW Team. In the meantime he managed to win the 1.000kms of Monza together with another BMW celeb and also F1 driver, Marc Surer (Brabham-BMW). However, they were in a Porsche 962C! With that very same car it all ended in a weird single sided crash in the 1.000kms of Mosport Park, on August 12, 1985.

I met him in 1983, 1984 and 1985 and I will cherish his memory, RIP Manfred.
