Curious to those updates! So if finished in 2014, what happened after? Happily ever after? New project?

Haha thanks everyone, glad you remember me! Jeroen, i did complete it, but of course still spent lots of time on smaller annoying teething issues. I did manage to get one trackday in before pulling it off the road again to do a bottom end rebuild a few months ago. Oh, and i also bought an E30 318is which i have spent lots of time on, and become very fond of. It has been a fantastic car, aircon etc but i am tempted to do a m52b28 in that one day.
So lets catch up...

I ordered new exhaust manifold bolts, 24 of, all individually sealed!
Trying to add some 'process' into the very tedious job of doing valve shims. No hydraulic lifters on S50B30's ofcourse.
some pipe turned up for the exhaust, shall be a twin 2.25 system
Took a while getting there but this is the FINAL version on E21 S5x/M5x sump.
-6 fitting for PCV oil return.
Bought one of these chassis rail braces from OneM Engineering.
enforcer cups (cant remember who i bought them off now), and e21 rubber gearbox mounts. Engine mounts are also e30 m20 items.
had the tailshaft modified as mine was 15mm too short. New unis and centre bearing too while they were at it.
finished off the loom, now wrapped with 3M super33 and super88. lovely stuff.
e28 heater valve, rebuilt with new piston. Had to use this due to some packaging issues with the e21 heater tap.
finally, finished the manifolds, added o2 sensor bungs, and given a coat of header paint.

A few dodgy phone pics of the engine in the car for the first time since painting (its came out again, doing final touches to the sump, sump baffle and trap doors).

Exhaust has been the biggest fabrication job still left to do. The exhaust has seen a few variations (still ongoing), these are pics of exhaust V1.0. This is twin 2.25 pipes, into single 3" and back to twin 2.25's.
V-Band clamp before and after the rear subframe.

Got the engine back together. Took my s50 bosch injectors to get cleaned and the injector guy recommended i fit bosch 4 pintle Ev6 injectors. I had already fit bosch ev6 injectors to my M42 E30 318is a few months prior so i was happy to just take his advice.
Other than that, just some photos of my car sitting there looking like a car again. Engine all together with fluids. Will post some sound clips of the exhaust.

Exhaust went through many iterations, ended up with a single 2.5 in the mid section with a 18x4" magnaflow centre muffler/resonator.
Stock m3 airbox elbow hits e21 shock towers, so i fitted some 48mm velocity stacks. Had to come up with a solution for the throttle cable but this wasn't too hard to sort out.
Also rebuilt the front struts, removed almost 60mm from the housings and fitted E30 IX Bilsteins. Had these revalved by Baker Brothers who used to do the bilstein valving for the JPS e30 and E24 group A cars in Australia. Also fitted some Ground Control top mounts.
Mounted the Massive Lee brake kit with some Polymatrix Q pads.
Also replaced the rear subframe bushes with some re-manufactured ones from Eurometric in the US. These also raise the subframe (same result can be had by flipping the stock bush carriers in an e21).
And this is how the car looked after putting the car on a club permit here in Vic.

Here's a few better engine bay shots from a BMW meet. It's nice to finally be able to just jump in the car and drive!
