Oh never mind, I used a complete and brandnew outer wheelhouse for a 10cm piece hahaha. These parts are to hard to fabricate yourselve. So, a fine solution.

Jezus, who are all those idiots, just spotwelding a plate on top of rust... you did the only good thing one can do with a spot like this. Nice work, mate!

I agree! But I have a small doubt as well. When I bought my car in 2011, there was rust in the same spot, a smaller spot though, and I repaired it in about the same way. But after my crash last year it was exactly there where the beam buckled.

By welding and repairing one changes the structural integrity of the part, at most parts on the car it is no problem, but I see this beam as one of the few parts where it matters, from a safety point of view. Or do you guys rest your case that you anyways end up with the engine at your lap after a crash?

I know what u mean but I welded a second "L" hardening iron sheet inside with weldingspots arround an on the top (u can´t see on the Pictures) This part is now more stable then before!

Good work! I first crashed the car and then replaced the complete beam I like your way better.

And crashing in these old cars is never a good option. Even solid examples will be chrushed like a beercan.
