I agree! But I have a small doubt as well. When I bought my car in 2011, there was rust in the same spot, a smaller spot though, and I repaired it in about the same way. But after my crash last year it was exactly there where the beam buckled.
By welding and repairing one changes the structural integrity of the part, at most parts on the car it is no problem, but I see this beam as one of the few parts where it matters, from a safety point of view. Or do you guys rest your case that you anyways end up with the engine at your lap after a crash?
