Well that took a while but i've added ~original to the pictures in the whole thread.
Strange as I could see all the images before and after the change.

Thanks for all the updates, enough going on over there to keep you busy! Any idea what caused the oil starvation? Usually the ///M engines are well protected on that front afaik.

With the previous install in the Yellow car, the sump was modified with a small capacity (~4.5litres) to allow the engine to be stood up taller away from the RHD brake setup. This works fine for road use and track use with trackday style tyres.
Once I'd added the splitter/diffuser and slick tyres, it is now generating much more cornering forces.
I can see from my on board videos of Brands Hatch the oil pressure dropping to near zero psi through most right hand corners (the standard oil light only flickered once as they are only set for 5 psi) and flicking back up once in a straight line.
After 8/9 laps of that the bearings would have been worn, got hot and one big end decided to seize when lifting off the throttle, snapped the rod and the rest became a bit mess

.
The new engine is now back at the correct angle with a standard E34 M50 sump with a baffle and I have also fitted an accusump system that retains oil pressure to be released into the engine if any starvation occurs. The oil pressure doesn't go below 40psi now at any point on track.

Some good fun at the BHP show at Lydden Hill, bedding in brakes and being gentle on the brand new engine

That’s a proper way to use an E21

All good so far, in the video's you can see the central gauge is oil pressure and keeps over 40psi+ everywhere now
I just need more seat time to get confidence to push the car harder.
Biggest improvement would be to upgrade the squidgy bit attached to the steering wheel.
