Thanks Arshad
Actually I took it to a friend upholsterer yesterday, in order to lay it out with leather for me. He asked me to have a few small transformations made on both sides, in order to make it possible for leather(or vinyl or whatever it may be) to turn on the internal corners...That makes me less happy, as it is going to make my box look less beautiful, but I am going to make the chenges, in order to see my project finished and in working order...
About the idea of manufacturing the box in more units (not bad, initially, if it is to make some money out of it, especially now with the crisis in Greece!!!!)...The problem is that this box is made very specifically, as I designed it already having the 3 switches. This means that in order to make a small production, either the users have to use the same switches, or I have to design the upper part specifiacally for each user's requirements (which means I have to change job....)

Same old problems with battery...
Yesterday I needed cables to turn it on.
The truth is that I move the car once or twice a week for very small distances (and very rarely a long drive), which weakens the battery. However, I think that it is a bit strange for this to happen almost every week. (Last week I took the car, it turned on OK, but I understood the battery was a bit weak.)

BUSHES:

( Thinking of ordering and stocking in order to replace all of them, at the time of my next shocks-springs replacement )

would you suggest:

Strongflex Polyurethane (but the SOFT ones)

or

Factory RUBBER ones?

Glad there's not too much damage.

A new air filter and check the fuel lines etc. I'm sure you'll soon be back on the road!

As a future protection you could put some heat reflecting pad on the underside of the bonnet to protect it?

Actually, the sound protection foam that exists under the hood, was burnt as well but only a little bit, so that there's no need to replace it.

The car is already running : I started it the next day without problems-only the battery was a bit tired from last mornings efforts-and drove it to the mechanic. The carb was sent to a specialist to be repaired (as the mechanic saw it was leaking some petrol-which probably caused the fire.)

I took it the same day with the old filterbox (that was fitted with the carb, before I orderer the webcon one)

Image

Much better economy.
Car very smooth(makes me think it was faster before)
Starts at first key turn now.(Which hopefully will prolong battery's life as well)
So I guess that the carb was in need of some repairs from the start...

Next move is to order a K&N filter however.

Personally I would stick with that air filter. It looks every bit as good as the K&N one.

I am pretty happy as well, however, 2 following reasons:

1) to have a second one just in case, it proved to be a good solution, otherwise I may have to wait long to get the car moving
2) It is not easy with this one to put foam all around, it has some sides difficult to reach. If I take a closer photo, I guess it will be easier to understand what I mean. I think the K&N is a more professional solution, this is a good one to keep in the garage, just in case something happens again
