Thanks man :) Yes lucky, me and passenger and other road users could have easily been killed. I just hope to fix my engine and rust and get the car back on the road soon. I want to paint it black and put schmidt th lines on and then work on the interior. I want to make the car look reasonably OEM but fresh and new. The wheels and exhaust pipe are the only wild mods

OK well, i cant remember where I got up to on this thread but basically on May 20th it failed its MOT onthe following

Knackered ball joint ( annoying as id recently replaced the lower out arm bushes ) and the new arm came with a bush

rust...lots, front wing ( new one i hadnt finished fitting ) wasnt connected at the bottom

Needed rear sub frame mounts welded

and the number plate lights were out

Anyway, i decided to take it out for one last run before the MOT expired the next day and a bolt from the air box went into the carb and savaged a valve seat

Anyway, heres an update. Engine is out, new engine is on the drive all painted. Waiting on a new clutch.. We have welded the engine bay parts needed and bits on the inner wing and replaced the old arm with a new bushed on
On the MOT ramp

Alright il get all that done and itl be running mint. Due to the pipe id imagine itl still pop and backfire a tad but im looking forward to a smooth running motor that isnt just pouring flames out the pipe all the time.

New pictures up later folks. The new engine is finally installed! Key will be turned at the weekend. I have also bought a hydraulic handbrake incase it sees the occasional track day. It will be getting lowered further at the front also.

But before all that the welding must re-commence on the rear end. New sills, sub frame mounts and possibly a fuel tank.

Pics up after work!
