While waiting for the spring (and sharknose meeting) it is time for some maintenance. Next step after would be oil change. What Castrol oil would be the very best to put in? I was told that fully synthetic is no good for an old engine as it is "too clean"?

A small update regarding the sound in the car...
Had a NOS genuine set of Grundig speakers on the shelf and today I swaped them with the factory mounted Blaupunkt. Much better even though I still prefer the sound from the engine

Nice! Reminds me I should do some upgrade to the front as well, all you'll be hearing in a Baur most of the time!

Time for a little update. When I bought the car it was fitted with two different endpipes. One was black and one silver - and none of them genuine BMW parts.
I was lucky to find two NOS genuine Ebersprächer exhausts and today I installed them. Car sounds a little bit better but best of all is that it now is as it was when she was sold new

With a more than full time job, two small children and not to forget a wife to please allso, time is limited....

At one time I thought I had lost interest for my Baur, since I only drive it a couple of times in a month. But I found a way to fully enjoy the car by just looking at it - I even asked my wife if it was okay with her to take the car inside our livingroom...Guess what the answer was

That was a joke!

Well well, I only need small adjustments now and the car is perfect - at least in my world ha ha
