Up date! This comming week I will put this thing in to a lot of little pieces..
Than it can go the the paintshop.
In the mean time I bought from the other Dutch e12 freaks here a very nice complet Marine ribcord interior...
With the back headrests which i was searching very intensifly.
So, these backheadrest go in to this M535i...and the rest from this superb interior goed into..
See my next post.

Yup, but i will do that in a koostimetable
In other words: the 528i which i recently bought as a breaker (totally rotten) will be broken down.
Specially the subframes will be restaured, sandblasted and painted.
After that i have given the m535 a new skin of paint, i will do the more technical parts, underneath.
But it will take some years.

Seems a good idea.
Only the front ''veerpoten''(do not no the English word) are different between 528i and M535i.

wowowow, no so fast, only difference is a slightly thicker spindle, and of course corresponding bearings, thats all. Even the hubs are the same as on a 518.
Hub and strut assembly is interchangable between all other E12's

Only the shocks are different(bilstein) . the rest is similar to E12 525/528i.

And the sway bars? Curious what special parts were used for the M535i compared to other E12 models...

The M535i e12 has the same struts as the e24 type 1 according to

Both types of struts (normal and thick spindle) are used on the E24 first serie, So not all E24 struts are same as M535.
early E24's did have the same normal struts as the whole E12 range.
M535 has factory delevered bilstein inserts, which where optional for all other models.
Another difference is the rubber mounting in the front of the subframe that holds the pull rod. there are normal and 'motorsport' rubbers. M535 has factory delevered 'motorsport' rubbers, for all other models these where optional.
Also different at the front are the brake disks and calipers. they are 3mm thicker as 528i and same as E23.

Time for more investigations than!
My m535 drives like a fresh e28.
Other e12s which i drove were all much more comfie and did had a lot of bodyroll.
I don't have the exact specs here, but i cannot imagine that only the struts make such a big difference!
