Is there any topic with ideas for placing electric windows switches in the car?
I am afraid that my fantastic little housing which I made with so much love and leather trimmed with so much detail, won't suit me anymore and I am going to need some other solution, as the digital gauges housing, although very thin, takes some place under centre console, which now has to be freed from things placed in front, otherwise the smaller hole under is non-usable

Also, need a new central console "Floor"
I have drilled the factory one, and I guess now I will find a new clearer solution (see also previous post), so I will need this "floor" to be as new again.
It is easy to make a new one out of plywood and upholster it, but any alternative ideas are welcome of course

I'd kill two birds with one stone and build a box onto the new centre console base. I was lucky when I fitted electric windows as I had a spare switch position on my seats that I could use, but the centre console was going to be my next position if it had to be somewhere else. When you make the new base I recommend covering it in felt rather tan vinyl as stuff slides around on it less, and maybe make a barrier to keep your phone or small items in one place:

Nice one, Thank You Sir!

My little issue is that with this (ok, thin indeed, but still...) digital gauge console now fitted under the ashtray, things have become rather narrow under there, so you need all the space you can get to the front in order to have that space usable...
But I will give it a try - designwise I mean :cheers

Started designing
hope I end up with the desired result and maybe a nice diy thread? or even maybe a couple of custom made consoles in case anyone is interested?
I don't know yet, time will show

Left the car this morning at the electrician for a couple of little works (which I should have dealt with a loooong time ago, but better late than never...)

One of these works is to deal with that nasty banging sound coming from the inside of my dash
(dash removed if required)

Another one is to fit this electric plaquette inside the fascia front of the steering wheel, so that the light/foglight/antimist switches left of the (LHD) steering wheel as well as the hazzard switch right of the steering wheel have illuminated labels
And then replacement of the left/right signal lever, on the left of the steering wheel column, which has lost its returning ability when turned left.
And finally a couple of other small things

Got a phone call about 20 minutes ago to hear the news that my radiator unit was found with a crack on it
I haven't yet understood exactly what this means, hopefully I will pass by after a couple of hours so I will probably take some pics to post here.
However, I understand 2 things out of this: 1) This is obviously the reason for the sound coming from there and 2) I guess this must be why the heater was not working properly during winter - I have extensively referred to both issues in other posts, and on this thread probably.
(And probably there won't be any need to remove the dash at the moment)

So now I have to see what the exact problem is in order to start looking for the parts needed

As I wrote, I don't know yet what the exact problem is or how much serious it is, but, provisionally, any suggestion about where to find a heating system would be more than welcome.
Just looked it up at Walloth & Nesch and they don't seem to have it at the moment, they only have the later one at a price ouch!!

It is the housing

How can I tell if it is the BEHR or the SOFICA heating system?
