Spoke with Dave @ M-tech in Essex today and devised a plan of attack for the TWR. Thanks to Jason, I have just bought an E12 M535i engine which will be dropped in to replace the original. The original will go back in eventually but the new engine will just speed things up a bit with regard to getting an MOT and back on the road. It also means we can take our time and build the original engine without having to rush or feel pressured.
After Santa Pod we will be going up with a trailer and I'll take extensive photographs. I am also going to start looking for anti-rust treatments as all the factory underseal was removed by a previous owner. The shell is 100% rust free and I want to make certain it stays that way.

Nothing to do with trees. Just good old fashioned hard graft, sacrifice & saving.

Fritz have ordered the manifold although it's going to be 5 or 6 weeks till it's ready. I'm hoping to get down and see chassis number 1 and check exactly what they did with the exhaust system. Anyway, hopefully that's the major expense over with.

Could you not order it direct from Phoenix Exhaust ?

pheonix exhaust are not allowed to sell fritz designs over the counter, part of the contract, To be fair Fritz paid for the money for the jig to be maid and there is not many companies out there building e21 bits so i think they deserve there cut

Hey Mark, any chance you can post some snaps of the engine mounts? I have a feeling my black 316 will be getting my spare M30B35 I have laying around...

Cheers, I'm a big fan of how far back the engine is! Is there not any piping behind the head like on the M20/M50?
