I think i may just cut out the bad bits from the passenger footwell plug and fabricate a permanent plug to be spot welded in.
Do the same on the other 3 as well so they match.
Using this car to learn body work on always something i wanted to do.

Thanks, both front arches have all the underseal/seamsealer and stone chip now removed, just worked an hour or so every night.
repairing the floor and inner sill is taking a while to form and fold the sheel steel, the front corner has 3 layers, floor pan, inner sill, a pillar panel.
hopefully get the shell fully repaired, then blast it, and 2k epoxy prime straight away.

Had a really good look at mine to day and its almost the same as yours in around the front floors,so poped out the front window to keep it from getting sparked and now wished I had left it where it was  as small hole you could put your hand in,but you would never have known it was there! :stupidme

Pity, but better find that kinda stuff sooner than later. I'd check the floor pan as well, espeically the corner right behind the front wheels.

A new toy has arrived, got it free from work, all in good nick just needs a few finishing bits'n'bobs and a new split nut. :banana :banana :banana :banana
the nice recovery man with the hiab dropped it down on the ply and timbers so all i had was a bit of crow bar work to get the rollers in.

Been a while since i updated, but not much has changed with the e21.
Had to spend time on the Rover 75, tax MOT and insurance all in the same month, then a great load of new parts, 2 springs, front bush, 4 tyres, RWB, abs sensor, rear discs pads, handbrake kit, rear flexi lines, front to rear brake lines, oil change, brake fluid change, some clips and a bulb.
Bloody Rovers.
im now also thinking side exit exhaust while im doing the sill work.

Well the milder weather on the West coast of scotty botty land is a bit milder this week, it peaked at 14.5 degree this afternoon.
found this Vid while waiting for my pics to load on photobucket, a chaminoux e21 on 16" bbs rs. can some one confirm the colour??.

think that is the colour im going to go back to plain white is to new.

like the single mirror, think i may remove the fuel filler as well, that way that side of the car will be super clean.

Nice video of a cute car! Color is mark I Alpine white I think (Alpinweiss) which is not as bright white as the later Mark II version. Chamonix moves more towards beige I believe.

right here we go,
as it was dry, thought i would test fit the wheels,
Image

look nice, the car came with 20mm hubcentric spacers already fitted
Image

loads of room, now 20mm spacer removed
Image

looks like my calculations from the ebay listing using 20mm spacers and from a vw scirocco paid off, 10mm clearance.
Image

Obviously daddy didnt fix the wheel's right, anyone knows 1 bolt is not enough :loll :loll
Image

now do i need to flare the fenders?
when the diff is levelled 100mm off the ground the track width is: 157.5 cm
when the diff is levelled 200mm off the ground the track width is: 161.5 cm

distance between rear window flanges is 133 cm

if the car is low 157.5-133 = 24.5/2 = 12.25 from window seam to top outer edge of rim.
using a spirit level distance from window to outer edge of arch is 15cm, but there is a 2.5cm lip on the inside.
BUT, if i roll the lip an allow for the metal to be folded up for a clean edge 1cm, the inner distance is 14cm.
SOOOOO 14cm -12.25 cm = 1.75 cm

SOOOOOOOO in theory i "should" have 1.75cm " a fat finger" clearance with standard folded arches and the rim edge, so i dont really have to run stretched rubber.
but if i do and i want the clearance closer i actually need 10mm spacers.
now when the diff is 200mm off the ground my top rim edge will actually be 2cm further out due to the swing of the arm so my rim will be inline with the archfold or there abouts by 0.25cm
so i would actually be better putting a 10 or 20mm spacer in that case to bring the stretched tyre up to the inner folded edge of the rear fender and have the rim edge proud of the car.
:blablabla :blablabla :blablabla :blablabla :blablabla :blablabla :blablabla
so my choice of spacer will depend on suspension height & stiffness either way standard repairs can begin. :popcorn :popcorn :popcorn

any comments????
