So, this is fort he first time in some 38 years that this car has a working sunroof! A Milestone!

Two bits: They managed to even spraypaint the rear windowseal… Man….

I never put in a headliner before, let alone a used one. But he, it looks not to bad… But it is a hazzle. After a while I used some old doorseals, cut those to pieces and used those pieces. Works great.





A new spot fort he rooflight, I put in the cable first.



I had to mount the ground wire first.



And so it goes. Almost done.

Al suddenly I have a resonable headliner.

To finish te roof, I had to do a couple of things. Step 1: glue the insulation back on the roofplate.





Get the new seal on



Hope that there is no shrinkage, because I have to make the seal shorter this time.

And the last parts



These rods are from the E30 winddeflector.





These plugs hold the hofmeisterchromelist They are covered in paint and filler. They are NOT going back looking like this.



So I cleaned them. Buy new is easier, but these are original.



Also Ik coated two parts of the car black. Like the did in the factory. Black. The part under the shelf and the part what you see when you open the glovebox.

Mounted the sunroofliner. It is a bit dirty, but I will clean that up lateron.



And the new light on the new location.

After some small chores, like adjusting the “schiebehebedach” and putting in the A pillar liner, I went ahead to 1 level below the roof. The rear window. Put in the seal and put the window in the seal first.

I bought this seal, new and in BMW package from a guy with a 1978 316, who’s garage claimed it wouldn’t fit. But the BMW number is correct. It fits and the window fits aswell.

That leaves me with the other corner. Always difficult.



But in the end: it fits!



After the other windows I will put in the loom, so I already put in the window heating cables.
