haha i think i'm going to have to get the block mounted, then get a stainless manifold online and try it. if it doesn't fit, can always send it back i guess.
I'm gonna tempt fate and say that it will be alright, as the back of the cam cover touches (nearly) the bulkhead, and the inlet manifold is level once mounted- not the cam cover - so I think potentially safe from the front shock turret.

I have an e36 m42 in mine and I think the only main difference outside is the intake manifold but we share the stainless exhaust manifold and mine has a good clearance, there are pictures in my topic and if you need any more just ask. I was thinking of putting on a e30 intake manifold (I like the looks more) but I don't know if I can keep the ECU (e365 has DISA system). You'll be happy with the way it will run with m42!

Keep up the good work!

Right- sorry about that, Photobucket issues again. I'll try to fix it as soon as possible and upload them to a different server.

Hi all,
If got some 323i anti-roll bars, would I need the presumably larger bushing mountngs/ brackets too?
Also getting some good heat tape for my m42b18 manifold to keep engine bay temp down.

Brackets are the same, but you will need new bushings. In the front where the arb connects to the chassis, aswell as the ones that connect to the wishbones.
But, because yours is a 1976 you will need to pay close attention to which parts you get.
There was a redesign in 10/1978.
You need matching arb, wishbone, and subframe.

Sorry for the delay but fear not, my e21 isn't going to get sold or scrapped. I love it too much
Plus according to
