The car is not dismantled too much. I want my car as a "new" car, and to have all dents etc gone, old steel must be replaced. If you ever have done bodywork on a car, you ought to know that that is impossible to change only one piece at a time (as long as you are changing the same parts as I am). Most chassis-parts are "twisted" around each other to improve strenght. So to get the inner plates off, the outer must go away first. Simple as that. The braces are mostly there to stiffen up (and locate) the upper a-pillars while rebuilding.
phillbriggs wrote:why are you replacinf the inner a posts, you cant replace a panle becasue it has a bit of rust on it, you sandblast it, whatever you do there will alsways be rust in the seams of the car because its to old, all old cars have rust in the seams. you only need to give them a quick sand blast and the rust will never come back, you are doing things you dont need to do and things that there are a simple fix too.
Sandblasting does weaken the plates in many occations, therefore new plates. They are better looking as well. I know that some of the plates I am changing are not that important, but since I am doing so much out of it - I am going all the way...

You just wait and see...
