I thought all e21s need new wings!! Seems to be most of the ones that come my way suffer from rotting out where they meet the front valance.
Sadly it isn't a 323, only a 320/6. Hopefully this weekend I'll get some real pics, push it out into the light and have a real good root around in it. It came with new wings, sills and rear arch repair panels but I think it's only going to need the wings. Front jacking point on the passenger side is dead but that's the only spot I could find at first inspection.
Because I didn't have much time with it I havnt got it to run yet, I chucked some jump leads on it and it turns over but doesn't get any further. From what I understand it was last on the road in 2004 and has been a 'project' ever since.
Aside from getting it to run my first task is getting shot of the alarm siren! Hideous thing!

I didn't get much time with the new one today as I was concentrating on the jag.
The seller said the car ran 'erratically'. It didn't Fire the other day when I tried but it had the fuel light on so I assume it to be pretty much empty.
I want to take a methodical approach to getting it going and try and get everything nice before firing it up.
Erratic?! I'd be suprised if it would run with that!!!
Going to source bits to give it a service and then chuck some fuel in it

Really cannot imagine situations like that, if even the cheapest parts on one's car apparently are too expensive. But good for you, with some minor work she'll be running a lot better for sure!

It runs!
Like a sack of #*!•
Managed to get it going with some fresh petrol and a screwdriver jammed in the carb!! Ran bloody awesome on brake and clutch cleaner!
Carb is pretty dead, lack of movement in flaps, generally crusty and just not up to the job really
Still waiting on new dizzy cap and rotor arm so I get the feeling the spark is really weak.

One of my buddies came down to grab some pics of bits and the latest one made it into shot
Trying to get bits and bobs done between the other bits, stripped the fog lights and the pony alarm system in it. Managed to get some fresh oil in as well!
I had driven it round the yard a couple of times and it has this hideous rotational clunk that sometimes seems to jam the car. It's up on the 4 poster and a quick inspection didn't show anything obvious, I was starting to scratch my head when it dawned on me the front offside wheel was not an e21 steel but a higher offset wheel! It was running on the track rod end and where there was a weight on the inside of the wheel it was jamming on the track rod end! Simple fix!

Haha!
Dent in the wing is pretty prominant eh!
Well it was a long day today (and as the e21s go slow here is proof I'm always busy)
I won't bore you with all the pics but 99% was reworking the metal, I did not want much filler in it at all and it is a really minimal amount.
I left the house at 6:20 this morning and got back at 19:20.
It's been a long day!!
One day they will all be mint

I can't believe that's the same wing - quality work!
