Hmmm... personally I have no experience with body parts from W&N but I do know a sticker with a Bavarian propeller does not always guarantee BMW quality... Anyhow, I thought they still supplied all the necessary parts to build a floor pan but ofcourse you already tried that source.

hi pedi, i not trying to fall out with you just saying, if a panel has a dent you repair is properly with proffessional body filler you dont replace the whole panel becasue of a dent, how do you plan on getting rid of old steel, the only way to do this is to replace the whole body shell. i have done body work on car for 30 odd years and no exactly how to go about repairing vechicles etc. i didnt mean you have to replace 1 bit at a time, ovously if you have to replace a boot floor and a rear panel then you have to take 1 panel of first to put the new one in, to rebuild a car properly you have to concentrate on 1 part of the car at a time. you should have done this. my car needs a whole new rear end, panels on the front and the whole centre, floor pans and all sills replaced, but i will start at one area, say the rear, i will remove the rear end, rear quarters, boot floor, all wheel turrets, then i will rebuild this part of the car again with the new panels. then when i come to the middle of the car i no that i can remove the sills and floors and no that i can easily line them back up again with the new rear turrets and the rest of the car. i would also do i side of the car at a time so that i could compare thew new with the old. this way you arnt disrupting the cars struture to much and reduce the risk in the cars chassis being twisted etc in anyway. im not saying you must take a panel of and put one back on, but you should concentrate on 1 area of the car and comeplete that area, then you have somehting to realign panels with, doing it your way and taking all the panels to bve replaced of first isnt good, as you remove panels that are vital for realigning other panels, thats why if you complete 1 area the vital panels are still there to align, whether the vital panels are new or not.
sand blasting doesnt weaken plates at all, sandblasting simply removes the rotten or correded elements of the steel, if you sandblast a panel and it has holes in then it needs replaced or repiard yes, and if a panel turns out to be heavly pitted from rust after its blasted then its needs repaired, but sandblasting just surface rust doesnt wekaen metal at all, if the panel tunrs out to have holes from rot then its all ready weak.
anyone with car knowledge can rebuild this car, but just becasue its built it doesnt mean that it is aligned and straihgt, it can still be twisted or not correctly aligned, i dont see this car ever running its wheels at its proper angles unless you spend stupid money having every panel on the car jigged so thats its spot on, and this is totally unessary.
you would have been better of to find a very good shell and replace just a few panels on that and modify it to a cabrio. genuine floor panels arnt available as they are the first part of the car to be assembled, these were never available. i agree with Carlo, you should have just found a very good floor panel and cut if out of a car and then bought every other single panel for a e21 and built it, it would have been less hassle.
you must understand im not trying to say you havnt got a clue just giving advice and my opnion.

Hehe.. no hard feelings here Phill... Ofcourse not.
I am going to put my "car" into a Carroliner jigg, and mount every panel on that jigg. Basicly mount every panel, and adjust everything. Then weld to the cramps get me...
It is not that easy to have a cabrio-convertion done here in Norway, the local authorities are very strict. And it is also hard to find a nice example here in Norway. But I have not figured out what to do with the floor pan yet, but I believe I have my hands full already with the rest of the chassis first.

Hi Pedi,
This might interest you.

Not sure if you can get it in Norway. I have used a locally developed one in Malaysia:

Do not use the cheap insulating foam type that they sell in hardware stores. These will shrink with age and absorb water.

Hello ichiwan2, I appreciate the links you've come up with. I do seriously plan using such material. Thank you.
And BTW...
No time, no nothing new about the car.. Some new parts have been ordered, but nothing of interest yet.

Hypercharging is rarely done, so therefore I will try to do so...
So the answer is: Yeah, I am going for both !!

I have been working like crazy the last year, and this means no time for my good'ol E21...
But I still have a vision about having the car back on 4 wheels, so for those of you guyz who dares to wait for this car - will not be disappointed...
