then go for M10 - 318I + Mega + large injectors + nice cam + exhaust + port & polish the head + 4 speed gear box = 150 HP ... and enjoy draging with E-30 325 till the end of 3rd gear

Well, I want my car to become faster, but not RACING...I love being able to take it for journeys, I wouldn't like to have such noise that would make me want the trip to end to calm my ears...Now it is very smooth, and I love this!!!

Problem solved....
It was a blown out fuse....
And, thinking that during all these 500 km I was carrying spare ones in the fusebox....

Should become a bit more DIY person, I think

Same problem...
Again the same fuse blown, last evening...Only difference that this time I knew exactly what I had to replace, and, having some spare stuff with me, it did not hold on for more than a couple of minutes (stopped the car, opened the bonnet and replaced with the new fuse...)
But I have to find the solution, and stop this from happenning once a week...
What to do?

I forgot to mention that, just before this happened, I drove the car for 3-4 minutes with about 5000+ rpm
(I don't know if this should have to do, however...)
Can anyone suggest whether I should replace that specific fuse with a larger one?Could this be the solution to my problems?

got a new gadget-non bmw but useful:
A thermometer with interior-exterior indications
Thinking of placing it somewhere in the central console, in the open space front of the gear lever.Have to think of a solution where to pass the exterior sensor from, in order to place it somewhere neutral (not heated by the engine, not cooled very much from exterior air, not hit+heated by straight sunlight...)
Any ideas-suggestions?

on my other cars its just underneath the front panel on the front spoiler

Thanks! I'll have to think of as many possible places as I can, and especially for the interior of the car, where it is important to me the route that the sensor wire should pass (I don't want it to be visible if possible)

About the problem my car was facing, it probably got sold finally (well, I will still keep my fingers crossed for some time until I get pretty sure), it seems that it was a faulty reverse rear lights wire...: the electrician found that, on its way (from the gearbox to the rear lights) it was passing from a narrow point where it touched and was squeezed between gearbox and/other metal parts of the car of due to the vibration it was cut...
Now the wire is replaced, and also it no more passes from these points..

Probably the former car's mechanic, who changed the gearbox, had passed that wire from this wrong way, who knows...

latest news: waiting for a weber 28/36, from Mark (retro-beemer)
So new engine plans will have to wait for now...And maybe forever if I'm happy with the mod...
Can't wait to get my hands on it, fit it and take the car for a drive...

Oh, and a BBS spoiler, but this may stay a while in my store room before I fit it

Parts arrived!
small problem with manual choke sorted (already discussed in other thread) Actually not a problem: It was I who did not know that the weber has manual choke...
I will fit the carb without connecting the manual choke cable for now...It 's the greek summer, so no problems expected...I 'll see how things go and whether I like it or not, and then decide, before winter comes: Either I leave the weber and fit a cable for the manual choke, or I re-fit the solex and make things as before (although something tells me I 'll do the 1st option...)

A cheeky little 4 branch manifold would make a nice addition to the Weber.
