I'd like to rebuild it but we need to inspect the shell first. I collect my black car tomorrow so should know pretty soon. I'm pretty confident the shell is OK though.

@Mark: Sad pictures but good to hear you want to rebuild it!
@Jeroen: Did you cut Wondermike's Baur roof off his car?
It's a beauty!

Even though it has spent the past 30 years in a frame, my 50x60cm original press photo starts to turn sepia, turned it back to B/W for you guys!
Interesting fact: this picture was made to promote E21's for Holland for the model year 1983. By then, as the E30 was already introduced the only E21 still available new was the budget BMW 315.
But the trained eye will be able to see that this is not a 315 at all and the fact that the car is debadged (holes in the trunklid) is the first hint. It's a 316 or 318i because it has chrome around the windows and it has the chrome trim to cover the bumper bolts, something only the 315's bumpers didn't have.

Also, the website BMWE21.net is mentioned on the back, and that did not exist yet in 1983? Hmmm
Nice picture though, the car looks so clean

Years ago I did have the Dutch brochure on the Edition E and Edition S versions, but somehow I lost it. Just laid my hands on a German version. Updated the
Limited Editions page right away, starting to become pretty complete now!

Today I've been to a BMW specialist here in Holland, they work a lot on the old BMW's and still now how to adjust a carb.
They had a nice 1955 BMW 501 standing in the showroom.

Pouls Auto techniek in Baarlo. They were working on a 635csi and outside a old 520 was waiting for repair, I asked them and they repair these old babies a lot.
They are also a certificated Prins LPG garage, my Santa Fe was there today for receiving a Prins Valve Care unit so the valves won't "burn" again in the future and the engine won't need another revision.

Still, it's a beautiful shot! One thing though, the pop out side window disturbs the lines of the car imho.

Harsh reality for the most of the E21's, but a beautiful picture.
