I don't know?

They mounted the standard diff using 2 mounts as opposed to one. They said the only problems they had with the regular diff were due to overheating which was why they increased the oil capacity as well as the cooling fins. None of the cars TWR sold had problems with their diffs afaik.

Also those calipers are not 635 possible m635csi but they wern't made till 83 the other option is e23 735 as Jeff Cook's Kumho e21 ran those on the front

Jason
Jason, are those calipers a direct bolt on? if not what has been done for to them to bolt straight onto the 323i front strut?

Also mark, what about the brake master cylinder, is it standard? cos of the front calipers i reckon you have an upgraded master cylinder to run those calipers... looks nice !!!

Hartge one also looks like it runs a diff cooler, although i was thinking that might be aftermarket?. I was thinking of fitting retro-fitting one.

As it's raing and I'm stuck at my desk I thought I would do a bit more research on the cars history and it's previous owners.

I'm having the head pressure tested prior to having it flowed this week. I'm leaning towards having e34 inlet valves fitted but as I know very little about M30 engines I am having to rely on other people.

This was the bill given when the car was returned as a C1. The conversion to 335 was another £8K.

TWR's factory back in the day. Spot the C1 in the background. It looks like an early car going by the chrome door mirror?

I'm keeping it as per TWR's spec. I might fit the spare engine I have while the original is rebuilt but that's about it. I'm sure it'll be quick enough with just the 240bhp anyway.

Just researching the best rust-proofing to use at the moment. Plan to do the floorpan inside and out same as MIBs.

When you consider a brand new 323i was about £9,000.00 it was a pretty expensive conversion. I have spoken with Ken, the sales manager, and the guy that bought the car new. As I have said, it started life as a German built C1 but once he'd driven the TWR demonstrator 174bhp just wasn't enough!

Thanks to Ken I have just spoken with someone who bought all of TWR's stock when they'd finished with the E21's. This includes all the County Championship spares. Watch this space.

Out of that list, it sems they did nothing to the brakes. And I guess the price for the alpina C1 is higher then the 323.
And I also gona pick up an alpina exhaust system. If you need printing of it to make an copy. And I have a ferrita system on my alpina. Just have to collect some mony and I vil go back to nederland and stat on my car.

They did change the brakes but I think they just forgot to put it on that invoice. They used 735 four pots with drilled & vented discs.

I would like a photo of your Alpina exhaust please. TWR actually fabricated their own in house but, going by the service history, it was a bit of a weak point and fractures had to be repaired 2 or 3 times. I have got one of Fritz' 6 branch manifolds coming and afaik the primary tubes are 3 inch although that does seem pretty huge. I had planned to run straight 2 3/4 inch pipe to twin silencers. I know it will be quite loud but it's more a weekend car than daily driver anyway.
