TC1 323i 1979
Everyone needs a Convertible. Even though you live on the west coast of Norway, where you can drive it 2-3 days a year. I´ve had 3 E21 earlier in life, and i missed owning one, so i bought a 323i Baur Cab. As usual rust is a problem and this one no exemption. A huge undertaking has been done to restore this, to former glory (even though a Baur doesn´t look as good as a sedan). Getting close now after being painted for the 3rd time. Color is original Schwarz (086) so every little detail shows after spraying. Hope this time it will be 100%.
The Baur is a 1979, 323i (WBA3071000 651 8848) Baur #683. I picked it up in USA where it has been a grey-zone car (euro spec, but with a US instruments). Days away from being "finish" as a classic never will be (there is always a detail you are not happy with) it will be put on Norwegian register for the summer.
If someone can tell me how to upload pictures i will certainly do so.

I can only agree and that must be why I'm a Baur owner as well. The specs sound good so we definitely want more info on the car, pics and videos!

All that remains now is to pull the curtains aside in the morning and look for sun . (So car will spend a lot of time in the garage)

Good work to convert the rust into something nice. I can imagine that black is perfect and difficult as a colour.

Re: A Baur on the west coast of Norway (a brilliant idea)
Thanks all, Will post some more pictures in a few weeks. Interior is pretty rotten so there is a huge job waiting there. Seats are good, but carpet and dash is awful. When time comes I will need a new type 1 dash. The California sun cracked it up. Also info about new original salt and pepper carpets would be appreciated.

Re: A Baur on the west coast of Norway (a brilliant idea)
After 4 years in Poland my TC1 finally arrived home. Rust and paint is not my strong points so in the wildest idea of saving a few bucks i send it to Poland. Through some Norwegian contacts down there i felt safe. 4 years later, one bankruptcy, and painted 3 times she is back. And the cost? Well i could as well send it to Germany and Mobile Tradition. Poland not recommended. She is now a driver, but there is still a lot of Gremlins in the car that needs to be dealt with. Then of course is to bring her back to original condition. Lights underneath bumper is not original, i know that, and will have to go. Anything you see not being original, please let me know.

Re: TC1 323i 1979
Yep, usually with cheap offers you end up paying the difference anyway, or even more! But looks like she is quite nice now, and quite original! However, the car has facelift (plastic) mirrors but the pre facelift deep front spoiler, what month was the car built?
The best news is that she's back and ready to be driven, in time for summer!
