My 1983 316, the two light model

This is my 316, I aquired it on sunday the 12th of march 2013 and cant wait to start work on it.

There are a couple of issues to sort first:

One being the clutch which should be pretty straight forward as ive done a few of them.

And the other is where there rear sub-frame connects to the body there seems to be some rust which wont go down
well with the MOT man : :?

My plans for the exterior are too keep it the dashing 'old-man beige, pop in some coilovers or lowering springs, and paint the wheels black.

For the interior is to get rid of the standard radio, as un-centimental as that sounds, and get a decent head unit, not too brash and fit a small
sub in the boot as there is massive boot space.

I will update the thread as I do it however money is a situation at the moment

Thanks for looking
Alex

Update on my car

Happen to go to a boot sale and picked up some nice e30 bottlecaps for a reasonable price
I was talking to my dad and he said that i should get thinner tyres on it so it wont damage the steering rack etc? obviously I dont agree :L
Was wondering if anyone had used these alloys before.
The original tyres on the steels were 165 and the ones on the alloys are 200.
Just in need of some advice, thanks

Are they 200 or 205 wide? Sometimes you run the risk of hitting the front wings when driving up a bump while steering.

And are you sure these wheels fit both front and rear without problems, no tie rods or brakes in the way? The E30 offset usually makes use on an E21 impossible.

Hi and welcome Alex. I've got a pair of beige 316's (they're not staying beige though) :thumbsup

As has been said, you should use some spacers up front or there's a set of OE turbine alloys on ebay.

They are 200 wide, and the back fits fine, but i will probably put a 5mm spacer on just too be safe but im pretty sure the front needs a 10mm.
I think they should still fit in the arch okay though :D
