Been there and done that one. Under powered and over priced !

I sold mine for £3.5k in 2004. It's now advertised on car and classic for 22 bags for an E30 !!!!!

Well here she is ! Picked her up yesterday. Was looking for a 4 door estroil blue for a while and everyone I went to see had a noisy Vanos !. This one is tight. Didn't want the silver leather either that they are often spec'd with. This has black leather. The drivers bolster was worn but I picked up an whole interior off ebay on a few miles from the car. Next job is to get rid of the 18" MV3's and replace them with Contours or Sunflowers.
Back in the day I bought a 3l coupe, but this is a totally different kettle of fish. Also I wanted a manual instead of the dodgy smg box. No sunroof on this which is a shame but it did come with life time tracker and an awesome Clifford alarm.

Congrats, an Estoril blue 3.2 sedan with manual gearbox is the best possible version in my eyes! Not too many issues with these engines even though you can do some nitpicking on intake gaskets, fuel injector clean, full check on the hoses with the airbox removed etc. I know I had some questionable injectors that can easily cause big engine issues (lean running) and some bad hoses on the oil separator.

If the Vanos is quiet, no issues there. What I did do, small job actually, replace the o-rings on the Vanos solenoids, place the covers with new seals and NEW BOLTS and tighten them with a torque wrench. These bolts are known to break and apart from spilling a lot of oil in a very short time, your oil pressure drops immediately. Oh and a check on valve clearances and a fresh gasket for the rocker cover. That's what comes to mind atm.

But she looks great, have fun, the way the 3.2 revs is impressive!

Good one, fully agree on that. Bearings on mine had started to wear noticeably, pics below shows the original bearings after 200K kms
