Hi guys!

I just wanna start by saying how i really dont know how to use the forum, so sorry about the awful picturesthat are chopped in half!
I decided its finally time for my to start my own feed about my lovely little 316! So I came into ownership of the car a couple of months ago, having only ever driven my parents VW Up and never owned my own car before! This is what she looked like when we (me and my Dad) went to collect her from the dealer.

Even an hour down the road, it was obviously to us that a few things weren't right, these are a few better photos taken at a service station! As you can see, she'd started to leak fuel, the drivers door wouldn't lock and then she wouldn't start (eventually did after about half an hour) when we tried to leave. I know the spoiler is not to everyones taste, but i really like the idea that soemone put it on thinking they were being cool back in 80s, so its staying, for now anyway!

I continued to drive the car despite the leak, as it only leaked when the tank was over half full. However after taking it to see my friendly mechanic he told me that shouldn't drive it at all if possible. He also suggested spending over £1000 on new tanks and labour, so I turned up and drove the car away! Found secondhand tanks thanks to 'brennon' on the forum, primed and painted and ready to go in.
Image
Thanks to some very caring friends of mine the tanks are now in! It took them three days to get the old ones out and the new ones in purely due to the amount of rust, but the new tanks are working like a dream, leak free (fingers crossed).

However bringing it home from a friend who had been looking at the electrics the other day and she died again. We decided that the distributer had finally given up, but with a new one ordered and now in, shes running like a dream again haha.

for now thats it, but i'll keep posting and asking loads of questions because I'm a real beginner at this kind of stuff!

The adventures begin huh! Looks like a nice straight rust free car, with just a few age related glitches, nothing too serious. That spoiler sure is a thing huh.... :whistle

Love this pic!
