The M535i of baur.

Post by 323baur »

So,

I'm just back from a long trip through France.
I've bought a real m535i e12, a car type which I had a long time on my shortlist "Once I own.."
And now... she's at home.

I've travelled 2100km with a e39 and a trailer, so I'm a little bit tired now.
First one word about the e39: what a super car. This one has a little v8 (3,5) and is very strong, stable, and for the long rides, pretty economic (with my right foot in mind).
Overall i've done 13.6l/100km.
Thats: 1050km with a empty trailer on cruisecontrol 140km/u (in France its ok), and back steady on 110km/h on cruise.
The only reason to stop...is to fill up the car and myself.

This specific m535i is very solid, but the looks are very poor.
The color is Arctis, but that was a long time ago...
Because of that, I will not post pictures of the hole car...before she's redone.
That will be this summer!

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Hahaha. No, that will not happen. I have to cut this cloth for measurement to have a nice leather set.

I've driven a little bit with this car around.
I earlier have had a 81 635csiA, also fitted with the m90 (!). That was for an automatic version a pretty fast car, but this is totally different.
The torque is really great! It pulls dramaticly from 1000rpm. Im impressed!

Congrats Ite! It has indeed a high torque at low revs. :thumbsup
It has the max torque of the e12 528i at 1000tr/min.
Does it already drives well? And the brakes are good to, much better than an e21 323i.
That interior is indeed not so nice, I would take the Interior from Koos... :bag

Yup! Brakes are redone, so that was already an avantage.
Because of the car isn't insured and I totally haven't any clue of the real technical state, I didn't pull the 100% power.
But for now, Im very very very happy.

This can be becomming a very long relationship.
When its finished Iam very curious to meet some M30 alpina guys :)

True, better be carefull before the inspection of the technical state.
You mean ALPINA B6 2.8? Same power, but This one pulls very good low revs(and high revs).
Only ''issue'': e12 M535i 1450kg, e21 ALPINA B6 2.8 1200kg.

Many congrats for you Ite! I'm happy for you finding this needle in a haystack and I hope you will enjoy this nice M535i for a long time. As I've still got some headlight-wiper issues ( ) I hope to see you and the E12 in real life soon!

Greetz,
Walter.

It seems that the swra for an e21 is equal to e12

The paintwork may not be perfect, the rest of the car looks brilliant! So I won't be surprised if this is going to be a long relationship indeed. Will drop by to check out this special E12 soon. Please get it on the road asap as we need to test drive it haha! Enjoy this wonderful gem!
