looking to by a e21 thats available locally...

if you could give me you thoughts/guidance it would be much appreciated!

1983 - 1.8 Manual
190,000 miles
Paint looks particularly faded, with considerable rust to rear paneling, especially around the lights.

No modifications, was used as a daily driver but recently more just as a weekend car.
New brakes, weber carb, track rods, reconditioned fuel tank and braided hoses.

Hmmmm must say this example isn't too good but depends on price and plans. Can't say to much about UK prices but what I do see is a rusty example. I'd call it too much for making a restore worth while, you will only find more rust so I wouldn't spend too much money on it, just drive it until the rust really has won

id say no more than 1k max

There is rust in chassis in bad places. Not 'written off' kinda rust, just time consuming to fix.

if its 5 speed - the gearbox makes it potentially worth a few quid, despite the miles. Otherwise, I'd be hard pushed at £900.

I know of a red 316, rotten as a summer apple, rattlecan re paint, more patches underneath than a boyscouts jumper.....the owner wanted £4000.

rattlecan finish = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
