Good run last weekend

Last weekend, we took part in a Healey club weekend, that does a Scottish tour. We started in Dumfries, and ended up at Durness, right at the top. In all 830 miles. The Baur performed well, except for breaking its accellerator cable, and trying to throw me backwards off the road on a very wet, and presumably, greasy roundabout ! Apart from its almost 100% reliability, what amazed me was its fuel consumption of over 42mpg ! It wasnt pedal to the metal driving, but not pootling about either. I suppose the combination of modern fuel efficient engine ( M42) and a light weight body - the car, not me - adds up. Even with my my E36 gearbox being 1:1 in 5th. The big Healeys probably got about 22mpg
