Hello friends i just bought a E21 315 With four headlights.
i have a doubt about my headlights. When i passed from low beam to high beam the lower turn off and the high turn on.
My question is IF when i pass to high beam the low beam must stay on?

Re: E21 headlights
Yes low beam must stay on, when switched to high beam on the dual unit headlights setup.
If you have the single low/high units, then only low or high is on, never both, because the h4 dual filament bulb can't handle the heat if both filaments are on together.
I gues your car is converted from single to dual headlight setup.

Re: E21 headlights
the fuse / relay box is different for 2/4 headlights ... I modified mine to keep the low beams on
Re: E21 headlights
Was the conversion easy? My uncle recently acquired this E21 and he wants to upgrade the headlights and the head unit. We'll work on it after we finish installing the skid plates and jeep tops on his Wrangler.
Re: E21 headlights
I did the work a few years ago, I remember having reached a connection inside the fuse box after studying the diagram of the 2 versions
Re: E21 headlights
The fusebox is indeed different. I just bought a new 320/6 fusebox, not that expensive and quite easy to fit. There is also a different headlight loom for the 4 headlight cars, so simple plug and play with the right parts
