Hello everyone Im new in this forum so hi to all again. My grandfather passed, so he gave his e21 ‘82 (not sure about the year) Im trying to use it in my daily life. The car hasnt been started since 2021 Oct. What are your suggestions for the first startup and also for the renovation process of the car.(PS: I have no photos at the moment)

So first of all my sincere condolences on the passing of your grandfather. But how nice that he has left you his 316 e21. They are fun cars.

Where are you based? When do you have pictures of the car, curious to see it? On www.bmwfans.info, if you go to "spare parts" you can submit the last 7 digits of the vinnumber, which is stamped in the left front wing, under the bonnet. When submitted, it shows the details of the car, buildmonth and year etc. And you can find all numbers to all the specific components of your car.

If the car ran half a year ago, it'll start. Just make sure ther is gas in it, air in the tires, oil in the sump coolant in the block and go.

As for restoring it, that depends on your scope of the work, the amount of money you are willing to part with and the time you want to invest. And ofcoure, the state of the car to begin with. Just drop your thoughts here, always willing to help.

Thnx for the reply, I'm in Turkey, İstanbul. The car is in an another city so i need to bring it to my city first for the pictures and etc. Thanks for the site for spare parts, I'll try to update for the photos asap.
