RHD brake master cylinder

Hi All,

Anyone know of a reliable supply of RHD brake master cylinders or rebuild kits?

I bought a seal kit from AUTODOC but it’s not right.

I’d be happy with a seal kit, or failing that a replacement or a rebuild service.
Im in Ireland, a uk supplier would suffice too.

Does anyone know if a LHD seal kit is the same?

I wouldn't bother with a rebuild kit. New cylinders aren't too expensive and then you are sure it is right.

Do you know of a good source for new RHD units?
Uk/Ireland based?

Yeah I believe that's the main issue, availability of RHD masters. However, I think there's quite a chance the rebuild kits are the same.

I just looked it up for 34311120218 and it seems that Autodoc offers the ATE RHD even cheaper than the LHD: https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ate/954295

I ordered the one from eBay, it’s an original ATE part, so perfect replacement.
Not sure how long these will be available in circulation.

Someone on FB suggested getting the old unit refurbished by pastparts.co.uk but the new unit was cheaper and quicker

Refurbishment is difficult because of the setup for honing. If we can collect 25 of them, it would probably be cheaper. But since new stuff is still around...

Good luck!

I’ve found a company that rebuilds them. Google past parts, Bury St Edmunds.

They bore out the cylinder then fit a stainless liner and powder coat the outside and all new seals. 3 week lead time.

The price is more than a new master (£170 +vat) but as rhd masters are nearly impossible to find I’ve sent mine off! I’ll post back with results

That is indeed the proper way to rework a master cylinder!
