Hi Patricia, welcome here! Interesting topic, hasn't been done by anyone here on the forum but with current fuel prices and the advantages of EV's like torque, I can imagine the thought! Hope you can find your dream car, beit an E21 or E30! Will you keep us posted?
The good thing is, everyone is looking for a clean six cilinder car, but as a basis for an EV conversion a bone stock 4 cilinder car will do just fine, and there are more of these around in a decent condition!

Hello and welcome, I think that if I have to heavily modify the car I would choose a low-quality model with a modest engine. Over time you will have the opportunity to accessorize and customize it as best as possible... I'll follow with curiosity.

This is what I found on the web, if you're looking for more detailed info I'll have to check the workshop manual

thank you.
i tend to agree, i think 10k euro is already at it's limits for a donor car.

nice, thank you. it's a good start. I'm especially curious about the size of the space where the transmission+drive shaft goes. I have the idea to (possibly redo) that area to fit more batteries.
I'm going to be looking at
this project next week, i can get some good inspectoin then. It seems a bit expensive, no? and ideally id rather drive the car a year of so before converting.

There is a good measurement diagram in de W&N folder.
Welcome Patricia! Currently I'm working on my e12 528i project, and the thought of converting it, somehow stick a i3 in it ore something, has crossed my mind more than once. So I will follow this topic!
