thanks again lads,

forgot to update the thread with my new modification

so while I was at the sharknose meet I found some awesome e12 manual chrome mirrors for sale on one of the stalls. These are much thinner then the e12 electrical type you get, and they only came on very basic models, anyway the electric motors in my original mirrors had died a long time ago, and the black plastic was starting to look crap and tired. :whistle

I had to drill a new hole but they fit perfectly and the triangular black thing on the inside fits back on too.

please ignore the wonky windscreen trim - that's a prime example of when you get a pattern part! I have replaced the windscreen rubber and the chrome trim with new and its sorted. The pictures are taken as it was getting dark the other day, so they do not really show how awesome the car looks with the new mirrors, it really makes the rest of the chrome pop out at you and goes nicely with my chrome door handles.

This weekend I was invited to have my e21on display inside the main dealers as they are having a launch party for the new m3 / m4, so unlike a normal person, while the england football match was on I was outside polishing my car :) Cant wait to have a go in one of them new fangled powerful bmws

Nice upgrade. Never did think about those mirrors in combination with the E21.

I thought about sticking the englebert mirrors on too but then I decided that they are a bit too weird looking, maybe its because they are a bit round it doesn't suit the boxy shape.

@Sean you can copy me all you like (i nicked the idea off woody lol) finding the mirrors in decent condition is going to be the challenge

Hey Mike, nice to see you on here (Mike in case I didn't tell folk is the nice chap I bought an E3 of) I'm sorry I didn't get back to you, but I will and definitely with more photos for the forum this time round. Anyway, in danger of hijacking thread no more E3 talk.

Nas knows I love his car and I like the chrome mirrors and overall look. The new pictures are epic, but the car itself is lovely. Hope that helps!

yeah the e3 is alright :) bloody massive car though, makes my garage feel tiny when it is in there.

Here are some pics I took today at the launch of the new m3 / m4 the dealership asked if they could use the e21 as part of the display. It was well funny watching the reaction of the sales people. it was like they haven't seen an old bmw before :)

Cant wait to drive in the m3/4 tomorrow.

anyway
