It was indeed Crayford that built them, but also FLN Panelcraft. I remember seeing an FLN converted 3.O SI for sale in about '88/89 but I've never seen one since. I had heard that BMW Motorsport built a few of their own in the early '70s as chase/spares/mechanics barges to support the E9 touring cars but I've never seen one. The Crayford converted cars used Maxi tailgates. See, something useful did come from BL in the '70s!
