not bad looking but they are 5 stud.
E21's are 4 stud 4x100 et13. At least if they don't fit you can blame the mrs. How often can you say your bloody fault

Haha, they were in my watch list and was taken fully into account, porsche pcd is 5x130 and lots of the vw crowd have adaptors to 4x100 as it's common vw fit.
Spacers are available at 20mil and although I'm not 100% on the offset of this set others seem to have been advertised around et23 so my really basic sums work them out to be a reasonable fit! (Maybe with some skinny tyres :whistle )

Uh oh!

I'm going to need some elaboration on that?

I'm really not a fan of the thought of fitting porsche wheels to the car if that's what you were thinking? It is just that I love the style of wheel, it's a very period wheel and should hopefully set the car off nicely.
I will probably try and modify the centercaps to remove the porsche logo as well.

I think the Cookie cutters will look great on the E21, and like you say, there's enough offset difference to fit spacers without cocking up the overall offset, and thanks to the VW boys, there's loads of 4x100 to 5x130 adapters out there!

No problem, it is good to hear it was a thought out plan! Nothing wrong with something different!

This weekend has been no progress on the 21s so far, i was stuck at work from 6am yesterday morning and then as soon as i finished i picked up the cookie cutter wheels and went straight on to help one of my mates with his e36.
This morning i had to sort the mrs e28, thought you guys might be interested so i'd get a couple of pics up.
Its her pride and joy, an '87 M535 with (sadly) an H pattern manual box

Image

the clutch return spring had failed and was beyond broken so i ordered a new one from bmw. I have always used Barons Hindhead, who i can't recommend enough, really good parts service but i thought i'd go a little upmarket with my supplier!

Image

Pig of a job, now going to be looking for a new clutch pedal as i cant believe that it should be such a terrible fit to the master cylinder with a rubbish line of mig down the tab for the master cylinder! i have a feeling someone has had a mess around with it before!

I have to fit this pic in too...

her M5 in the foreground on my rondell wheels, did i mention we were bmw nuts?

:D thats her stepdads, i can never remember exactly what it is but i'll take a guess at 420SEC. Its supposed to be going for sale soon, hopefully we can convert him to :bmw

got a couple of hours with the cars, planning to do a dump run on wednesday morning before work so wanted to get as much piled up as i can. Crappy seats from the banana are first on the list! carpet is home made so thats going too, roll bar is sat on a big pile that has been growing for far too long now!

so while looking round the banana i noticed this -

Image

thought i'd check to see for sure -

Image

i really need to get time to put a battery on the banana, fire it up and check what actually works. I wont be using the electric windows so if nobody else wants them they will be going scrap.

i think i forgot to show the quality additions made to the sill/doorshut area so here is a couple of pics to give you a chuckle -

Image

Image

should have really got some pics of the mounts that had been fabricated for the e36 seats as i'm sure they would have given you a smile as well!

i took some paint off the rear panel to double check the lock had been plated over and sadly it has. I'll get the grinder out at some point and cut some out. There is wires going to the boot for an amp so potentially a sub or some form of speakers in there but i'm not holding my breath.

I took the wheels off, replaced with standard alloys that came with the 316 and stuck them on my daily for the moment -

Image

easily doubled the value of the van!

they will be going up for sale as I don't really need them on the van.

while i was underneath i had a very quick look at the suspension. I assumed some form of aftermarket as shocks were not black but found this -

Image

gutted.
I was hoping that the banana would have suitable suspension to use but for me cut springs/ springs that don't seat properly are only good to line the bin.

that leads me on to...... what suspension shall i use?
i don't have 323 struts so i need something that will fit the smaller strut, i think this rules out gaz coilovers? has anyone got any recomendations for other kits? i want something firmer than standard that will also offer a reasonable drop

Hello! Great thread. That yellow E21 is certainly "unique" for the wrong reasons. You still get the scrap value, some other goodies and the Mims, so a good score overall. I LOVE Mercedes SEC's. Must be the Dallas and Dynasty in me. Watching this thread with interest.

Before you scrap it, please could you whip out the drivers door locking mechanism and catch plate thing? I could also use a pair of door rubbers if they're not too bad? :thumbsup

Mark, yes, for sure. Potentially I will need to stretch the legs of the m535 so if your still south London way I could possibly run them to you.

Harly, where are you based? The answer is yes but ideally it would be good if you could pick them up just so you can see exactly how they go together as I'm not sure how heavily the door was modified to fit them!

As and when you break it, can I have the door opening restrictor things? I chopped them out of the slug as I couldn't get the pin out. very annoying when the door swings too far open then shuts on me as I try to climb over the roll cage!
